This blog is about hope.
But it’s also about ‘dis’: dissatisfaction, disillusionment, discrimination. There’s so much of it all in the world I can see it even from where I stand atop a mountain of privilege.
So really, this blog is about why it’s worth changing the world.
It’s about the world changing whether we like it or not.
It’s about speaking up about the change we want.
And, of course, it’s about being that change (‘thank you India’ and Alanis).
But this blog didn’t start here…it started in 2009 when a 17 year old girl walked into the coffee shop where I worked and asked me how much for a glass of water.
Her question altered the course of my life. That is the mark of a real teacher and she taught me a lot that day. I have met many others since then, and it would be selfish of me to keep their lessons to myself.
So now I am passing them on to you.
